AutoCAD is a handy application for the engineers and architects and it can be used for creating engineering as well as architectural designs. Following function keys are used most commonly in AutoCAD.
F1: The function key will allowt you access the help dialog box of AutoCAD. So whenever you are in a state where you need any help from AutoCAD just press F1 key.
F2: This function key when pressed will open the AutoCAD text window. Through this window you can easily scroll through the history of previously used commands.
F3: With this function key you can easily turn the currently running osnap ON or OFF.
F4: This function key will let you turn the Tablet ON or OFF and you may never use this key.
F5: This function key will let you switch between top, front and right ISOPLANES easily.
F6: This function key will turn the coordinate readout located at the lower left of the screen ON or OFF.
F7: With this function key you can easily turn ON or OFF the Grid display.
F8: With this function key you can easily turn ON or OFF the ORTHO command. ORTHO command is used with the combination of LINE command for creating straight horizontal as well as vertical lines.
F9: With this function key you can easily turn Snap ON or OFF.
ESC key: ESC key is also called Cancel command key and whenever you are required to switch between two commands you are required to press the ES>C key so that the selected command can be canceled.
